Covid 19 – Update - 3rd May 2020 - 12:05pm


The effects of the shutdown is having a dramatic effect on the viability of the school bus service.

With the loss of all the usual private coach hire, school trips and general group travel the only work in the diary going forward is the school bus runs. This is having a devastating impact on all coach companies. Social distancing measures and the closure of attractions and events will make it very difficult to recover back to our usual level of work. This impacts on the costs of school runs as the other group trips subsidise the costs of the daily school bus for parents. Looking towards the next academic year we estimate an increase in costs of around £200 to £250 per passenger is likely, to get us through the first half of the academic year. By which time we hope some coach activities will have resumed. We have updated the school bus prices with an increase of £200 per passenger for next year. This is to be open and clear with everyone. It will apply to all passengers but people who have booked at the previously advertised price will have the option of cancelling their booking and a refund of their deposit. A final decision on price will be made at the end of May and booking confirmations will be then sent out in June. We will issue further updates as things develop. Please be assured that we are doing all we can to survive the crisis and also to keep costs as low as we can for the next school year.

Covid 19 - Emergency Bus Provision - March 22, 2020 at 12:32 pm


We have volunteer drivers who will operate an emergency service, for children who have no other option, but to go to school.

This is available only to pupils who travel on our services and who's parents are on the key workers list.

Parents must register children with both School and with CTS to access the service.

All CTS passengers who must go to school during this difficult time can still do so.

Parents are advised that there is a clear risk in using the bus and you should only go to school if no other alternative is available to you. Hand sanitiser is available and should be used on all CTS Buses.


All those who have booked on for Monday 23rd March onwards have been sent the Emergency Route Timetable.

Schools are providing a Child Minding service and not normal lessons.

Bookings now open for the next academic year 2020/2021. You will also need to send a photograph of each passenger after you have completed your booking. Please send photo's as a Jpeg attachment to an email. In the email add the passengers name and your Invoice number. Send the emails to


New route added to Crossley Heath School to replace the C6 Metro service being withdrawn in July 2020. This will now be the CTS Bus C600 service. It is available to book now.


Full Academic Year Contract - Parents are reminded that they are signing up to a contract for the full academic year. A £50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. You may cancel your contract any time up to the 30th August 2020. After this the full amount is due, even if you stop using the service during the academic year. This is to keep costs down for everyone as we do not add a margin for cancelled or unused seats. Please be sure you wish to book before entering into the contract.
